The College is only open to our most vulnerable students (including those on EHCPs, or who are in care or have a social worker) and the children of key workers. All lessons will continue to run virtually for all students. The College opens at 9am. Please notify us before 10.30am if you wish to access the College past 12 noon so we can ensure facilities and access are available. The government has published a letter explaining how the summer grades will be calculated. The letter has been emailed to you and a link is in the news section of this website.

Sport and Exercise Science

The College lived up to expectations. It was very welcoming when I started and continued to be so throughout my study. The teaching staff were supportive, encouraging and motivational which was very important with the subject I was studying.

Former school: Lady Hawkins' School

Studied: BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science

Elite Athlete: Cycling

My course was good for me. I wasn't good at examinations but was always quite good at researching and writing lengthy papers. I loved learning about sport and the different areas within it such as psychology, anatomy and coaching. It helped me understand my sport and myself, as I am a cyclist competing at national level. I could manipulate the skills I learnt to create a controlled and more knowledgeable sportswoman, which is why I feel that courses like this are so important for aspiring sports professionals.

The PE Department also has an Elite Support Programme for up and coming athletes - I was allowed to use the fitness centre, sports hall and equipment to full advantage.
