Today I am working towards my dream of obtaining the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. Without the aid and support from tutors I do not believe I would be telling the same story. I was encouraged to consider alternative routes. I was treated as an individual when discussing my personal goals and I was given priceless advice when applying for work experience and with my job application for BDO, a leading accountancy and business advisory firm.
My advice to students is to consider all career paths - be it studying at university, joining an apprenticeship scheme or getting a job. Work experience is key. Look to build your CV in any way that you can in order to make you stand out from the other candidates.
