New Face for Hereford Sixth Form College

Posted on 20th October 2014

Work has commenced on a major new building at Hereford Sixth Form College.  The £1.3 million block will provide a new reception area and office space and create additional study and social space for students including an extension to the current cafeteria. The project has been funded by the Education Funding Agency in recognition of the outstanding record of the College and its growing popularity.

Jonathan Godfrey, Principal said, “In the face of continued cuts to the post-16 sector, I am delighted that the College has secured a significant grant towards this project. The new building will not only provide superb additional accommodation but produce an impressive front entrance and reception area on Folly Lane. The main contractor for the project is William Powell and Sons who have been responsible for a number of our new buildings including the central teaching block, Library and Pavilion and the new Maths block.  We are pleased to be able to employ local builders of such high quality. The College has invested over ten million pounds in its estate over the last several years and has some of the finest facilities for sixth formers in the three counties.’’
