The Netball Academy’s first team have had a fantastic start to their 2017-18 season by winning back-to-back silverware on their first two outings.

The squad was invited to attend a netball tournament at Cardiff Metropolitan University where the girls spent the morning taking part in netball skills sessions prior to the tournament. The Hereford Sixth Form College team came out on top after facing some tough opposition including a Cardiff Met selected team, Exeter College, South Gloucestershire & Stroud College and Richard Huish College, Taunton.

The team continued their success the following week at the Herefordshire County Schools Tournament, where they beat Hereford Cathedral School and Lucton School to become County Champions.

The College’s Netball Academy goes from strength-to-strength and this year has almost 80 students signed on; the largest number in the Academy’s short history. Two teams play in the AoC (Association of Colleges) Sport West Midlands Performance Leagues and the remaining teams play regular local fixtures.

Huge congratulations girls!
