Students (Back L-R) Jack Chambers, Connor Pearson, Julia Bailey (Front L-R) Jordan Dann, Matthew Elliott and Georgia Allard celebrate the College’s outstanding news

Following its recent Sixth Form College of the Year Award, Hereford Sixth Form College was last week visited by Ofsted as part of a survey of outstanding colleges. The Inspector stated, “The College is outstanding. The award of Sixth Form College of the Year was highly deserved and recognised many years of consistent excellent performance. All programmes of study are of high quality and A level and GCSE results all show considerable value added to students, with a very high proportion of A*-B grades.”

In addition he praised the enrichment activities, support and guidance and the wider opportunities which the College offers to students, resulting in a far higher proportion than the national average achieving entry to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.  “Music, Sport, Drama are all encouraged and developed for most students to a very high standard.  The College has a positive and aspirational culture, putting students at the heart of all activity.

Principal, Jonathan Godfrey said, “I was delighted by the outcome of this visit which confirmed our outstanding status and fully justified our title of Sixth Form College of the Year”.
