The College is only open to our most vulnerable students (including those on EHCPs, or who are in care or have a social worker) and the children of key workers. All lessons will continue to run virtually for all students. The College opens at 9am. Please notify us before 10.30am if you wish to access the College past 12 noon so we can ensure facilities and access are available.

Computer Games Development and Digital Graphics

[equivalent to one GCSE]

This course offers the opportunity to learn how to create digital products including graphics and computer games. It also helps develop transferable skills such as research, planning and review, working with others and communicating creative concepts.

The hands-on approach has strong relevance to the way in which young people use technology. At the start of the course there is an opportunity to attend EGX which is the UK’s biggest video games show.

The units studied are:

  • Pre-production skills (written examination
  • Creating digital graphics (practical assessments)
  • Designing a game concept (practical assessments)
  • Developing digital games (practical assessments)

What can I do after the course?

This qualification is a good foundation for Information Technology - Creating Digital Solutions and Computer Games Development & Cyber Security at Level 3 and beyond.
