The Extended Certificate is a two year vocational course and is equivalent to one A Level.
You will study four units over two years.
Unit 1: Psychological Approaches and Applications (examined)
This is an examined unit on the cognitive, social, learning and biological approaches in psychology. These approaches will be applied to aggression, business and gender identity.
Unit 2: Conducting Psychological Research (coursework)
This involves producing reports on the importance of research and a pilot study.
Unit 3: Health Psychology (examined)
This module examines lifestyle choice and health-related behaviour, theories of stress and addiction and promotion of positive behavioural change.
Unit 4: Introduction to Psychopathology (coursework)
This involves examining the causes, types and characteristics of mental disorders and exploring professional approaches to the treatments.
Taken alongside other Level 3 courses, this course provides entry qualifications for a wide range of degree courses.
