Oxbridge Entry & Extension Programmes
The College has a range of courses and activities which are specifically aimed at meeting the needs of the many students who have a particular skill or talent whether in an academic subject or in a practical area such as Music, Drama or Sport.
Success rates for applications to Oxbridge, competitive entry courses such as Medicine, or entry to Music or Drama colleges, are excellent.
Key elements of the programme are:
- AS/A2 Critical Thinking - offered to all students to enhance analysing and formulating arguments;
- opportunities for extended project work;
- additional workshops in all subjects;
- A level General Studies to provide breadth;
- group and individual sessions to prepare students to apply for applications to Oxbridge or other competitive entry courses;
- participation in the College Academic Discussion Group and Debating Society.
- mock auditions and interviews;
- specialist Rugby, Football and Netball Academies;
- choral, instrumental and academic scholarships for talented musicians to prepare students for application to music college or for choral and instrumental awards at universities;
- specialist Music and Drama activities offering opportunities for talented students to perform at the highest level in all areas of the Performing Arts;
- coaching and accompanying for Grade 8 Associated Board of Music examinations and diplomas;
