| Badminton Club |
Badminton Club is open to students who just want to come and have a "knock up" with their friends or to more competitive players who want to play a few matches. Coaching is also on offer. Monthly tournaments are held giving more competitive players a chance to come and play some quick matches at a high intensity. Playere also have the opportunity to compete in local tournaments and to represent the College in the British College Sports Cup. There are also talented badminton sessions available for students who are keen to increase their competitive abilities. |
| Basketball |
Made famous by American high schools, this fast-paced team sport is a great way to keep fit and have fun with your friends. Hereford Sixth Form College is now involved in the British College Sports (BCS) Cup and has competed in the BCS tournament in Birmingham. The College team has linked up with Hereford Mavericks Basketball Club, with a number of students also attending their senior sessions. |

The success of the men’s team has prompted a regular basketball coaching session for the girls, with a view to future games between Hereford Sixth Form College and other colleges and sixth forms in the county, as well as participation in the BCS league and cup. |
| Body Pump |
Body Pump is the world's first class to combine high-repetition weight training with aerobic conditioning, set to powerful music. It tones and conditions your body, can help you lose weight and ultimately change your body shape, all in record time. This class is run in association with Sixth Sense, the College’s onsite gym. |
| Boxing |
The Boxing Club at Hereford Sixth Form College is open to all abilities and concentrates on improving particular boxing skills ranging from the block and parry to the counter punch. The Club is open to both genders and combines skill practices with fitness training and a good ten minutes of the hour is given to skipping to improve co-ordination and endurance. The Boxing Club has been set up in association with Wye Amateur Boxing Club allowing students to have a go in the professional ring. This also ensures keen students can continue with their boxing development by attending the Wye Amateur Boxing Club's sessions. |
| Clay Pigeon Shooting |
Clay pigeon shooting is not just a sport for men. Many women, children and young people have tried their hand at the sport, finding it great fun and even surprising themselves at their own skills. The Clay shooting opportunities at Hereford Sixth Form College are a joint venture between the College and Herefordshire College of Technology and are held at the Holme Lacy campus. The sessions offer shooting lessons for both beginners and experienced shooters and are available to students from both colleges. Everything required is included - guns, cartridges, clays and instruction. Participants spend some time getting to know their weapon and the safety behaviour required at the ground. You are then taken out to the shooting stands, where you receive instruction from a highly qualified tutor employed by Herefordshire College of Technology. |
| Dance |
Modern/Jazz Dance sessions are also running at Hereford Sixth Form College and are great for all abilities and genders. The classes consist of modern dance techniques performed to new music in a great location. These classes are proving a real success with Theatre Studies students who are able to log their dance experiences on their cv. In order to allow students to access the greatest range of different dance styles these sessions comprise 4-6 weeks of instruction and choreography in one form, culminating in a performance, before moving onto a new style. |
| Dodgeball |
As featured in the Ben Stiller/Vince Vaughn film, dodgeball is a fun, indoor activity that can be played at all levels, by a mixed or same gender team and with a varying number of participants. A weekly session of dodgeball has been set up to allow students to enjoy and experience this relatively new game at a recreational level. It is hoped that an intra-college league system will develop as a result of the sessions. |
| Gymnastics |
These gymnastic sessions are designed to teach basic gymnastics to young adults of a reasonable fitness level, but not necessarily with any previous gymnastics' experience. Gymnastics is often dreaded during school years, and this session caters for students who would like a second chance to learn a handstand or a back flip. They are also good fun and a challenge for those who like to push themselves to a new level. Gymnasts, ex-gymnasts, dancers and martial artists are welcome. |
| Pilates |
Pilates is an invigorating form of exercise for your mind and body that can improve your strength, flexibility and overall mobility. It helps restore your body to balance. As a result, your posture will change and you will move more efficiently. You will achieve a strong core, develop longer, leaner muscles and improve your overall sense of well-being. And, if you are a sports enthusiast, Pilates can help improve your game. Regular sessions have been tailored to the students needs with one programme run for women only and another with limited numbers to increase the instructor to student ratio. |
| Rock Climbing |
Hereford Sixth Form College's rock climbing sessions are run in association with Taste for Adventure who offer a comprehensive climbing programme with one-on-one skills coaching on an artificial wall and indoor group tester sessions. Accredited by the AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority), their instructors are trained to the highest level and the course is aimed at all levels from the experienced climber to the complete beginner. The sessions also take advantage of the wide variety of climbing to be found in the Wye Valley such as Symonds Yat, Wintour Leap and Ban-y-gor. |
| Tennis |
The Tennis opportunities at Hereford Sixth Form College are run in association with Whitecross Tennis Club. This ensures that the coaching provided is of high quality, focusing on technical, tactical and physical conditioning. All equipment is provided. All students are catered for depending on standard, ability and interests. Competitions are planned for those keen to compete, or you can just come along and play "friendlies" amongst yourselves. |
| Trampolining |
Hereford Sixth Form College's Trampolining Club is available to all students at all levels and aims to develop students' trampolining skills by working towards their next British Gymnastics Trampolining Awards. The club has participants of all levels, ranging from complete beginners all the way through to students trying for their level 10 awards. Students are aided in their bid to achieve their next award by coaches Matthew Phillips and Richard Martin. An exciting element to the club involves students working on a routine for the British Colleges Competition held at Lilleshall every year. |
