GCSE Leisure & Tourism

Leisure & Tourism is an applied subject which is concerned with people's changing leisure activities and travel behaviour. You will also study the destinations that people visit and changes in patterns of tourism - including the issues of impact and sustainability that they raise.
Leisure & Tourism also covers the study of leisure and tourism organisations - the businesses which make up the leisure and tourism industries. Promotion and sales activities, working in leisure and tourism and health & safety issues faced by leisure and tourism organisations are all included.
Qualifications
We assume no previous knowledge of Leisure & Tourism apart from your own experiences and interest in the area. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team would be an advantage.
Study Visits / Fieldwork
You will be offered a range of visits and enrichment and support activities such as study visits to theme parks, local hotels and tourist venues.
After the Course
The course provides you with a good overview of all the elements of leisure and tourism in preparation for employment in these two industries. Alternatively, you may choose to consider the AS/A level in Travel & Tourism offered by the College.
