GCSE Geography

GCSE Geography covers a wide range of skills and knowledge prized by employers. Geography looks at the interactions between people and the environment. It involves three units.
Unit One involves developing an understanding of the physical processes that produce diverse landscapes and considering how humans interact with them. You will study rivers, glaciers and tectonic processes.
Unit Two focuses on changes in human environments, both rural and urban. You will study tourism, urban development issues and population change.
Unit Three involves a local fieldwork investigation, which will be written up under direct supervision in class.
The first two units are both assessed by examinations which make up 75% of the marks available. The local fieldwork investigation makes up the remaining 25% of marks.
