AS/A Level Drama & Theatre Studies
This course offers you the opportunity to examine all aspects of performance and theatre. It develops your imagination, confidence, self-discipline and team-building skills. The course will also develop and improve your acting skills. You will learn how to research, rehearse and perform devised and scripted work. You will study a wide variety of theatrical skills, extend and develop your knowledge of theatre and develop a critical response to a wide range of live productions. You will study, write about and perform plays. You are assessed through acting in a wide variety of different theatrical styles, from naturalistic scripts through to the experimental performance work, and through written coursework and exams.
You will need the experience of performing either in productions or in drama classes. Whilst you do not need to have studied Drama to do this course, if you have taken it at GCSE you will need at least a grade C in the subject.
