AS/A Level Dance
As with all subjects, this course is open to both male and female students. It is suitable for anyone interested in ballet, modern or contemporary dance, but it is not ballet-orientated.
Qualifications
Some dance experience is necessary and a keen interest in dance is essential. A knowledge of GCSE Dance is desirable, but not an entry requirement.
Study Visits / Fieldwork
During the course there will be workshops with visiting dance companies and the opportunity to see professional performances. There are regular visits to Birmingham Hippodrome for performances.
After the Course
Dance provides a good foundation for further study in related subject areas such as Theatre Studies, Music, Dance and Drama.
