GCSE Leisure & Tourism

This course seeks to develop your understanding and awareness of the leisure and tourism industry.

Qualifications

We assume no previous knowledge of Leisure & Tourism apart from your own experiences and interest in the area. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team would be an advantage.

Modules

The majority of the course is Controlled Assignment but there will also be a written examination.

GCSE Modules

  • Understanding Leisure & Tourism Destinations
  • The Nature of the Leisure Industry

Study Visits / Fieldwork

You will be offered a range of visits and enrichment and support activities such as study visits to theme parks, local hotels and tourist venues.

After the Course

The course provides you with a good overview of all elements of leisure and tourism in preparation for employment in these two industries. Alternatively, you may choose to consider the AS/A level in Travel & Tourism offered by the College.
