AS/A Level Travel and Tourism

This course is one of a suite of vocationally- focused AS/A Levels. Using work-related cont exts and innovative teaching and assessment methods, this course offers a broad introduction to the travel and tourism indust ry. It is ideal if you want to gain an AS/A level which combines academic studies with a more practical, 'real-world' approach.
Qualifications
This course starts from scratch and assumes no previous knowledge of Travel & Tourism. A GCSE in Leisure & Tourism may be of benefit to you, but it is not a requirement.

Vocationally-focused AS/A levels place more emphasis on work that is internally assessed through the creation of portfolios. You will only sit exams for one unit of the AS course and for one unit of the A2 course.
Study Visits / Fieldwork
You will be offered a range of visits and enrichment and support activities such as trips to theme parks, local hotels and tourist venues. We hope to offer one residential trip to a major national or international tourist destination.
After the Course
This course prepares you for further or higher education in the same way as all AS/A levels. It will also enhance your prospects of working in the travel and tourism industry, for example, as a travel adviser, a hotel manager, an adventure holiday trainer or a theme park manager.
