AS/A Level Economics

The emphasis of the course is on the British economy but you will also study a wide range of economic issues such as globalisation, poverty, unemployment, the housing market and the environment.

Qualifications

This course starts from scratch and assumes no previous knowledge of Economics, but you should be numerate and able to produce good written English.

  • The National Economy (AS)

A2 Modules

  • Business Economics and the Distribution of Income (A2)
  • The National and International Economy (A2)

After the Course

Successful students often go on to study Economics or a related subject in higher education. Courses have included Accountancy, Management Science and Land Management. Other students have made use of their studies in a wide variety of employment situations such as banking, finance and the retail sector. The course also provides a strong foundation for those planning to work in a family business such as farming.
