AS/A Level Dance

As with all subjects, this course is open to both male and female students. It is suitable for anyone interested in ballet, modern or contemporary dance, but it is not ballet-orientated.

Qualifications

Some dance experience is necessary and a keen interest in dance is essential.

Modules

AS Modules

  • Understanding Dance (AS)
  • Choreography and Performance (AS)

A2 Modules

  • Dance Appreciation (A2)
  • Group Choreography and Solo Performance (A2)

Study Visits / Fieldwork

During the course there will be workshops with visiting dance companies and the opportunity to see professional performances.

After the Course

Dance provides a good foundation for further study in related subject areas such as Theatre Studies, Music, Dance and Drama.
