Disability Equality Duty
New laws from December 2006 place a duty on public bodies to promote disability equality. This new legal duty means that we need to look actively at ways of ensuring that disabled people are treated equally.
We have prepared our College's Disability Equality Scheme. Current staff and students with disabilities have participated by giving us feedback on their experiences at College. We would still value contributions from parents, from students who are considering applying to join the College next year, and from previous students.
Please see the Word documents below to access the Scheme or contact the College and request a printed copy. The Scheme is also available in Braille and large print and an audio tape and CD.
The whole point of the Disability Equality Scheme is to put in place practical improvements for disabled people to close the gaps in opportunity they may face.
If you would like to give us feedback on our Disability Equality Scheme please contact Dr Ruth Brinton (Deputy Principal, Staff and Students) or Jenny Hall (Head of Learning Support) on 01432 355166 or e-mail rmb@hereford.ac.uk or jeh@hereford.ac.uk.
